Nevena has closely been following the events in the Arab world as a International News Editor for Focus News Agency. She also works for the Online Newspaper E-Vestnik.bg and worked for the Bulgarian National Television for over two years.

Mohamed will have his Bachelor of Engineering-Electronics and Electrical Communications in July 2012. Since January 2011, he has volunteered for Rassd News Network RNN, a ground-breaking alternative media network based in Egypt which was launched as a Facebook-based news source and quickly advanced to become a primary contributor of Egyptian revolution-related news, applying the motto "from the people to the people". Abdulwahab Ghazi, 26, Yemen
Abdulwahab is the local Coordinator of the Middle East Partnership Initiative. He is also a communication officer in the Yemen Music House. He leads the "We are the Change Initiative" and is an active blogger.

 

Alice Gioia, 24, Italy
Alice is currently at the European Parliament in Italy with the Schuman Intership for Journalists. She is especially interested in cross media, has worked for a political radio talk show, for Forum International TV, and a Swiss Magazine on politics and social issues among others.

 

Ana Kakalashvili, 19, Georgia
Ana is a law student, working for the Digital Rights` Group of the Federation of Young European Greens. She blogs about Green topics, feminism and digital rights. Within the Digital Rights Group she works on Human Rights online, Online Freedom, against ACTA, the revision of the European copyright enforcement policy, the Reform of data protection legislation, Hate speech online etc.

Natalia works as a free online journalist for the Russian Department of Deutsche Welle. She is currently at the University of Applied Science Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in cooperation with Deutsche Welle.

Emese is a Hungarian blogger at Mos Maiorum, dealing with unwritten political questions, rules and customs and comparing the democracies of Western and Eastern Europe.

Wiem is journalist at Tunisia Live, the first Tunisian news website written in English.

 

Bardhyl Metkamberi, 25, Kosovo
Bardhyl is project officer at Students Helping Life-Kosova. He was appointed the Peace Champion for Kosovo for UNESCO sponsored peace-building project titled "Friends Without Borders". He is also active on Our Future Network, a network program for young people from Serbia, Kosovo, and the Netherlands.

 

Maryam Mohammed Jaafar, 22, Iraq
Maryam works at Iraqi Alamal Association as a journalist and website manager. She has covered subjects such as honour killing in Iraq, child trafficking or sticky bombs and was awarded the Kamel Shiaa prize from the European Journalism Centre 2011.

 

Iaryna Mykhyalyshyn, 21, Ukraine
Iaryna is a member of the Coordinating Council of Civil Movement "Chesno", as an investigative journalist. Chesno activists are independent journalists and active citizens who use Internet ressources to publish material that is not published in traditional media due to censorship or other reasons.

 

Christoforus Pavlakis, 26, Greece
Christoforos is co-founder and editor of the awarded online youth magazine Europe And Me. The magazine wants to support the emergence of a young European public.

 

Mohamed Rahmo, 25, Marocco
Mohamed holds a Masters degree in Public and Social Communication. He is starting a project similar to opendemocracy.net with Egyptian colleagues, called dhad.org - a platform free discussion and exchange of views. He is also the co-founder of several websites.

 

Anna Elina Saraste, 22, Finland
Anna is studying Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Tampere. She is a member of the Middle East and North Africa Committee of the European Youth Press. Formerly, she produced a live talk show about young people who are engaged in societal activity and change. She also participated in a documentary film project in the West Bank and Jordan.

Corinna joined the Youth Press Baden-Württemberg four years ago. Currently, she is working on an international cross-media project. She is also the editor of JUST magazine.
